Efe Arabaci, watercolor and plein-air artist
I am a watercolor and plein air artist who paints the world as I see it: alive, luminous, and full of stories. My work captures streetscapes, architecture, and everyday life in moments of sunlight and shadow, where light defines space and movement gives life.
Painting outdoors, directly from observation, allows me to witness the fleeting details others might miss—the glint of sun on a window, the warmth of a street corner, the rhythm of people passing through. I do not merely reproduce what I see; I interpret it, letting contrasts, textures, and layers of watercolor speak, creating a dialogue between the ephemeral and the enduring.
I am drawn to moments of strong light, bold shadows, and atmospheric depth. My streetscapes and city scenes aim to evoke a feeling, a sense of place, and a pause in time, inviting viewers to step into the scene and experience it with me.
Watercolor, for me, is both a medium and a way of seeing—a tool for exploration, reflection, and expression. Each painting is a journey, a conversation between spontaneity and control, a pursuit of the extraordinary in everyday life.
